WORLD - PLACES

"Akotera" may refer to the entire world, or only the area visible on this map. The world has not been explored much beyond that.
The inhabited area has three Elemental Spires arranged in an equilateral triangle, with the Aether Ruins in the center. All four were built by ancient mages. Powerful magic users are much less common in modern times, but enough of them live at or visit the Spires to keep them from falling into ruin. Meanwhile, the Aether Ruins have been abandoned, their exact purpose forgotten a long time ago.
In the past, there were three major nations in Akotera, one for each element. Their territories didn't reach far beyond their respective Spires, and each nation was essentialy only for asykiata with an affinity for its element. It's rumored that in the "neutral" areas between lived the aether mages, but it's not proven whether they existed in the first place...
The elemental nations slowly evolved into Taenyso, Keaskal, and Aodyrize. Now asykiata of all affinities coexist in all three of them. Their territories have also grown to border each other, but the Spires are no longer part of any of them, so mages from any nation can freely visit them.
Taenyso

Tenykae - a large port city. The ships mostly course between towns along the western coast.
Aeteryne - the biggest city in Taenyso (and its capital), and the entire inhabited world.
Erysaru - a small village spread over a large area of mainly farms.
Keaskal

Loenkai - a floating "village"; ships and floating houses scattered throughout a lagoon.
Aiktunat - the capital of Keaskal, stretching across several tower-like mountains.
Saitkaten - a small town deep in the rainforest, partially in the walls of a natural sinkhole.
Aodyrize

Koirazi - a lakeside village. Its main export is water taken directly from the nearby mountain spring.
Zidaeko - Aodyrize's capital, known for its many colorful hot springs.
Hyreiza - a fishing town. Part of Tenykae's metropolitan area, despite being in a different country.
