Introduction

the world of savirell is not like our own. there are no real planets; what's called "planets" for convenience is just chunks of ground with atmospheres encased in magical, crystalline barriers. they're generally closer in size to a continent on earth than an entire planet. savirell's planets are also not round at all, they are relatively flat planes; gravity is sort of... universal, even in outer space (though the planets do "float", and there's no real bottom of the universe as far as anyone can tell)

most of the time, all the stars you'll be able to see will just be "false stars" - small (at least relative to actual stars) clusters of brightly glowing energy crystals. savirell does have real stars, but like planets, they are much smaller than stars in our world. the reason they're not visible from too far is mainly that savirell's space is... basically foggy? the visibility is overall pretty low (well, relatively)

the outside of the universe is only briefly relevant for the story of ENTROPY, but yes, savirell is crystalline from the outside. things get weird towards the edges, which is why there doesn't really seem to be any, from the inside.

magic

the inhabitants of savirell can also, in theory, use magic to some extent, though it is rare. only interacting with magic through magical technology is much more common than actually using magic itself.

the basic principle of magic is manipulating energy, most commonly converting it directly into a physical form and back; it's used to create magical batteries, for example. it's also how crystalrot happens.

the physical form of energy is crystalline. the crystals emit light, color corresponding to the amount of energy - from red (lowest) to violet (highest).
