LANGUAGE: WINAMELO

used by astrovyrns
a language primarily "spoken" through electromagnetic waves, though its eight symbols have phonetic equivalents that astrovyrns use in breathable atmospheres.
WRITING
syllabary; comes in two very different flavors
the latter is a more traditional, fancier script used mostly for decorative and artistic purposes. the symbols are meant to be written slightly overlapping, and this shows which direction they are meant to be read in - the "top" ones are first. when written without overlap, usually in digital form, it's accepted as left-to-right, like all modern savirell scripts (and the other version of the syllabary).

PHONETICS
radio winamelo is essentially dual-tone multiple frequency-shift keying, specifically MSFK-8, with four frequencies on each "side" of the carrier frequency. they are sent in pairs of higher and lower tones, like dialing a number. it's in the ultra high frequency band.
the spoken version assigns consonants to the lower set of frequencies and vowels to the higher set, forming CV syllables
+4 = i
+3 = e
+2 = a
+1 = o
(carrier)
-1 = m
-2 = n
-3 = l
-4 = w
NUMBERS
historically, astrovyrns rarely write, especially numbers, so their scripts don't have special symbols for digits. instead, they just use regular syllable symbols, sorted in their usual order - first by lower, then by higher frequencies, starting from closest to the carrier frequency.
